What is Rapid Resolution Therapy®?

Rapid Resolution Therapy® (RRT) is a holistic psychotherapeutic approach which utilizes multi-level communication to resolve emotional disturbance and maladaptive behavior. Because RRT changes how the subconscious mind processes information, improvements are automatic and lasting. RRT is particularly effective in clearing the effects of trauma, grief, anxiety and depression gently and painlessly, while addressing any conflict blocking the desired change.

How does Rapid Resolution Therapy® work?

Rapid Resolution Therapy® works by integrating the emotional and rational systems of the brain using imagery and metaphor to eliminate the ongoing influence of troubling past events. RRT is consistent with the latest discoveries in neuroscience, which indicate that traumatic memories are typically not integrated into the right time frame, and tend to be stored as emotionally charged experiences. When a traumatic memory is recalled, it destabilizes and can be updated in a process known as memory reconsolidation. RRT guides clients through this painless process, causing traumatic memories to lose their charge, and restoring feelings of well-being.

How many sessions of Rapid Resolution Therapy® will you need?

After their first session of RRT, clients typically report that they feel calm, peaceful or uplifted. RRT dramatically reduces treatment time because it targets both the rational and emotional brain with its use of symbols, metaphor and humor. Rather than spending years talking about a problem, which engages only the rational system of the brain, the disturbing effect of a traumatic memory can be cleared with RRT in three to five sessions.

Rapid Resolution Therapy® and Rapid Trauma Resolution® were founded and developed by, and are both trademarks of Dr. Jon Connelly and are used under license.

What is EMDR?
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is a psychotherapy developed by Dr. Francine Shapiro to reduce the emotional distress and symptoms caused by traumatic memories. EMDR uses bilateral stimulation such as lateral eye movements to support the brain’s information processing system and bring about the adaptive resolution of disturbing memories. EMDR therapy addresses three time periods: the present, the past, and the future. Current situations that are distressing are identified, disturbing memories from the past are reprocessed, and skills and attitudes to deal with future stressors are rehearsed.

Research has shown positive outcomes for EMDR therapy in the treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Anxiety, Depression and Grief.

How many sessions of EMDR will I need?

Research indicates that EMDR can bring about changes and benefits in a few sessions that previously took years of therapy. EMDR is an 8-phase treatment that typically takes eight to twelve sessions.
